Trip Instructions
Attention: If you are interested in rooming with someone that you personally are attending the trip with, please let me know and I will make sure you get grouped together, and I will refund you both $150 each We ask that guests try to arrive in Bogota on October 1st, ideally before 3:00 PM. If you can't make it until that evening, that is fine! You might miss the trip to the Gold Museum, but you can always see it on your return trip to Bogota. Transportation: The Courtyard By Marriott in Bogota is right next to the airport and they have their own regular shuttle service to and from the airport. More information will be provided via email after booking.

Colombia Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Bogotá Arrival + Gold Museum
Guests arrive in Bogotá in Bogota and Check in at 3:00 PM. If you arrive early, the hotel will gladly hold your bags. It is a nice hotel so feel free to relax and enjoy the bar and restaurant area.
Day 2 – Morning - We fly to San Jose Guaviar
We fly to San Jose Guaviare. As part of your tour package, this plane ticket will already have been purchased.
Afternoon:
After settling in at our hotel, we will meet with our Guide Marcel, who will take us to on a relaxed hike to one of the most beautiful rivers in the world. "The River of 5 colors" is a unique experience that not many people get a chance to see for themselves.
Evening:
Dinner in town is provided by me followed by an optional Beer and Chat hour where there will be a special presentation by me where I will give a talk about my travels, research, and adventures over the years.
Day 3 - La Lindosa Rock Art Tour
Morning hike to the amazing La Lindosa to view ancient pictographs on massive rock walls.
Our guide will explains theories about the creators, animals, and figures and we will get a chance to see the possible Ice Age animals painting at the site.
We will also do a short and safe trek through a cave system at the site where we have a short silent meditation.
If we are lucky, we might even see some monkeys in the canopy.
Afternoon:
We will visit the prominent and peculiar Orion's Gate, which features an odd rock structure nearby.
Evening:
Dinner on me with an optional Beer and Chat hour which will feature a talk from Michael Collin's of Wandering Wolf Productions.
Day 4 - visit 2 separate rock panels
Morning/Afternoon We will visit 2 separate rock panels that not many people get a chance to see. Almost everyone comes to Guaviare to see La Lindosa. On Day 4, we will visit 2 sites that are off the beaten path. We will take 4 wheel drive vehicles to access the site and a short hike to each location. [Placeholder for photo]
Evening: Dinner on me.
Day 5 - Return to Bogota
Return to Bogota and say our goodbyes. The plane ticket from Guaviare to Bogota is provided at part of your tour package.
Tour Terms & Conditions
1. Booking and Payment
- Full payment is required to secure a spot.
- Prices are per person.
- All prices are in USD.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations must be made in writing.
- Refunds: Soon after your booking, things are happening behind the scenes to secure your accommodation, transportation, and tour. A 50% refund will be given back upon request if that request is made 30 days before the tour begins. After that, no refunds can be issued as the booking window will have closed and your spot will have been secured.
- If the tour is canceled by the operator, a full refund will be issued (minus any unrecoverable third-party costs if the tour has already started).
3. Travel Insurance (Strongly Recommended)
- Travel insurance covering trip interruption, cancellation, illness, and evacuation is strongly reccomended
- The company is not liable for any costs arising from lack of insurance.
4. Tour Modifications and Cancellations by Operator
- Itinerary is subject to change due to weather, local conditions, or safety concerns.
- Minimum number of participants may be required; if not met, the tour may be canceled or rescheduled.
5. Responsibilities and Assumption of Risk
- Participant understands that the tour may involve hiking, transportation by third parties, and visits to remote areas.
- Participants understand the current travel advisory of Colombia by the US State Department
- Note: The two areas we will be going to, Bogota and San Jose del Guaviare are not highlighted in the US Governments Prohibited Travel advisory.
- Participant assumes full responsibility for risks including but not limited to: injury, illness, loss, or death.
- The tour operator is not liable for acts or omissions of any third-party providers (hotels, airlines, guides, etc.).
6. Health and Fitness Requirements
- Participant must disclose any physical or medical conditions that may impact their participation.
- The company reserves the right to deny participation to anyone unfit for the tour.
7. Passport, Visa, and Entry Requirements
- Participant is responsible for securing all necessary travel documents.
- No refunds will be issued for failure to obtain documents or denied entry.
8. Image and Media Release
- Participant agrees that photos or videos taken during the tour may be used for promotional purposes unless requested otherwise in writing.
9. Liability Waiver
- You agree to waive, release, and hold harmless Incredible History LLC, its affiliates, agents, and staff from any and all claims arising out of participation in the tour.
